HOLA! On August 27th, 2022, Kaydence Rae Ann Meshell was crowned as the 46th Annual Miss Zwolle Tamale Fiesta Queen. Better known to everyone as Kaydee, she is the seventeen year old daughter of Chris and Kacey Meshell. Her paternal grandparents are Randy and Connie Byrd and Herbert and Eva Meshell. Her maternal grandparents are Joseph “Buckeye” and Claire Lopez. She is the oldest of three children and has one sister, Miley Claire, a ninth grader and one brother, Brady, an eighth grader that both attend Converse High School. Kaydee has a special 95 year old great-grandmother, Ms. Minnie “Sissy” Campbell, which she credits for teaching her about being passionate about family, faith and dignity.
Kaydee is currently a senior at Zwolle High School where she is an active Varsity Cheerleader. This will complete her eighth year cheering in school; something that she takes pride in. Academically, she is an honor roll student and a member of the Principal’s Club, which recognizes grade point averages and perfect attendance each grading period. Kaydee is highly involved in many clubs at Zwolle High, including National BETA Club, FFA Secretary, Student Council, Explorers Club and a member of the Yearbook Staff. After graduating high school, she plans are to attend Northwestern State University to pursue a degree in nursing with the aspiration of becoming a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse. Being born premature herself, Kaydee has always wanted to return the exceptional care and grace that she received as an infant.
Outside of school, Kaydee is very active in her church. She and her family are members of Noble Baptist Church in Noble, Louisiana. Noble Baptist Church Youth Group is very dear to her heart as they meet every Wednesday for worship and are involved in community service throughout her small town. Aside from youth group, she is a member of the puppet ministry and a Vacation Bible School Volunteer Teacher for Pre-K students. Operation Christmas Child is one of her favorite missionary works that her church participates in each year and provides 150-200 boxes to children for Christmas.
Her hobbies include travelling, shopping, spending time with family and friends and cheering on the Zwolle Hawks to victory. Kaydee’s favorite memory has to be cheering in the Class B State Boys Basketball Finals game last year when the ZHS Mighty Hawks were named state runner up.
Kaydee would personally like to thank her family for supporting her during the pageant and everyone that has helped prepare for this adventure. She is more than honored to represent her hometown as the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta Queen! To have the opportunity to promote our rich Spanish and Indian Heritage throughout our beautiful state is truly a privilege.
